This Privacy Policy applies to the following website (quickreceipts.co), and our mobile application, QuickReceipts, owned and operated by QuickReceipts, Inc. (our "Services"). This Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, protection, use, sharing, and disclosure of information we collect when you visit our website or use our application. For Google user data collected through Gmail APIs, see specific restrictions on our use of that data are set forth in the section titled Google User Data. You may access our Services from websites, phones, tablets, desktops, laptops and other devices, as well as third-party applications. By your use of our Services, you consent to this Policy and our Terms of Service. This Policy also describes your choices regarding the sharing, use, access and correction of your personal information. You can find our Terms of Service in the following link:
Terms of Service
We collect information when you use the QuickReceipts mobile application and our website.
QuickReceipts accesses and processes email receipts in your email account (specifically, only Gmail at the moment) that you have connected to our Services. By linking our Services to your email accounts, you authorize us to collect, process, and retain information, including personal information, from those accounts. We use this information only to provide our Services to you.
Email Receipts. Email receipts, also known as commercial messages, are emails you receive or you auto-forward from businesses about subscriptions, sign-ups/cancellations, any account requests and confirmations, purchases, travel, reservations, event tickets, boarding passes, promotions, bills and package shipments, and other similar transactions. We only access and use Email Receipts to provide our Services to you.
Paper Receipts. You can also take pictures of your paper receipts using our App. By doing so, you authorize us to access, process, and retain information from these images to provide our Services to you. Paper receipts may include information about purchases, business transactions, and other personal information related to the transaction.
Receipt Text Processing. To accurately read line items, totals, taxes, and other receipt details, QuickReceipts first extracts text from your receipts on your device, including paper receipts you scan and email receipts imported from your connected email account. That extracted text (never the receipt image) is then sent directly from your device to a third-party receipt processing service. This text may include anything printed on the receipt, such as merchant names, items, prices, and partial payment card or loyalty numbers. Along with the text, the service receives standard technical information needed to complete the request, such as your IP address. The service processes this information in real time solely to return results to the app. It does not store your data, does not use it to train models, and may not use it for any other purpose.
Pro Subscription Cloud Storage. If you subscribe to QuickReceipts Pro, your receipt data is automatically backed up to our secure cloud infrastructure to enable multi-device access and real-time sync. Pro cloud storage is encrypted in transit (using TLS/SSL) and at rest on our servers. Your cloud-stored data is accessible only by you through your authenticated account. We may access and use your cloud-stored receipt data to improve our receipt scanning, categorization, and analysis algorithms, and to train and enhance our machine learning models to provide better service to all users. We may also use your data in anonymized and aggregated form for research, analytics, and product improvement purposes. We do not sell your individual receipt data to third parties or use it for third-party advertising purposes. You can generate a report of your receipt data at any time from within the Application. If you cancel your Pro subscription, real-time sync and multi-device access are disabled; cloud-stored receipt data associated with your account is retained while your account exists and is deleted when you delete your account. We may retain anonymized and aggregated data for algorithm training and product improvement as described above.
Optional Data Usage Program. Free tier users may opt into our optional data usage program to receive weekly cloud backup of their receipt data. Pro subscribers receive cloud backup automatically as part of their subscription. By default, QuickReceipts stores all receipt data locally on your device, and receipt images never leave your device. For free users who do not opt into our data usage program, we do not store your receipt data on our servers. Text extracted from your receipts is processed in real time by our receipt processing provider, as described in “Receipt Text Processing” above, and is not stored.
If you opt into our data usage program:
We collect and use your data to:
Improve our receipt scanning, categorization, and analysis algorithms
Train and enhance our machine learning models
Develop new insights, analytics, and intelligent features (such as spending benchmarks, trend analysis, category insights, predictive features, and other data-driven functionality)
Provide you with enhanced features as we develop them
For free users who opt in:
We provide weekly cloud backup of your receipt data
Your data in the program:
Is encrypted during transmission (TLS/SSL) and while stored on our servers
May be used in anonymized and aggregated form to develop features for all users
Will not be sold to third parties or used for third-party advertising
You can generate a report of your receipt data at any time from within the Application. You may also request a full export of the data we hold by contacting support@quickreceipts.co; we will provide it in a machine-readable format within 30 business days.
This data usage program is entirely optional. You can opt in or opt out at any time without affecting your access to core QuickReceipts features.
Account-Specific Data Storage. All receipt data is stored separately for each QuickReceipts account. Logging into a different account will not display receipts from other accounts. Each account maintains its own independent receipt library, tags, and data. If you cannot locate your receipts, please verify that you are logged into the correct account with the correct email address or Apple ID. QuickReceipts cannot merge data between accounts or recover receipts associated with different accounts.
Note: We never share with other users the Email Receipts, Paper Receipts, or any data that contains personal information, such as your email address, IP address, name, photo, phone numbers, postal addresses (for example, if it is included in your shipping information).
Push Notifications. If you opt in to receive push notifications, we will send you push notifications about new receipt processing status and reminder notifications to manage your receipts. If you no longer wish to receive these types of communications, you may turn them off at the device level.
By registering for a QuickReceipts Account, you may provide us with your information including, but not limited to:
Type of device
Operating system version
Your name
Picture
Credentials (in an encrypted format)
Device identifier (IDFA)
We may also collect preferences and demographic information from you and about you from third parties. Additionally, we collect information about your website and app usage, sessions, actions, and how you interact with our applications. This data collection is intended to help us improve our features and your QuickReceipts experience.
Usage Data. We may collect data about your interactions with our Services, such as the features you use, the time spent on the App, and your navigation patterns. This information helps us understand how our App is being used and how we can enhance it.
Log Data. When you access our Services, we may automatically collect certain information sent by your browser or mobile device. This may include your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, information on actions taken, and dates and times of access.
We will retain information you provide when you communicate with us, such as any emails you send to customer support.
As is true of most websites and apps, we gather certain information automatically when you use our apps and visit our website. This information may include information on the type of device you use, operating system version and the device identifier (IDFA), internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, the files viewed on our site (e.g., HTML pages, graphics, etc.), operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data to analyze trends in the aggregate and administer the site.
QuickReceipts and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to analyze trends, administer our Services, track user interactions, and gather demographic information. Disabling cookies may limit certain features or functions. We do not use cross-device tracking and do not respond to Do Not Track requests. These technologies help us provide a personalized experience and track marketing effectiveness.
Advertising. Other apps and services may use cookies or similar technologies to provide you advertising based upon your browsing activities and interests on other apps and services. We do not collect information for third party advertising purposes and we do not run ads on our Services. To manage interest-based advertising from other apps and services, use your device's advertising settings (on iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising).
We use, process, and store your information as necessary to perform the contract with you and for our legitimate business interests, including to:
Provide and Improve Services. We use the information we collect to operate, maintain, provide, and personalize our Services and apps, and to research and develop new ones.
Receipt Text Processing. We use text extracted from your receipts to identify line items, totals, taxes, and other receipt details. This text is processed in real time by our receipt processing provider, as described in “Receipt Text Processing” above. Neither we nor the provider store this text or use it to train models.
Communicate with You. We will use your email address to communicate with you, including updates and new features of the QuickReceipts mobile application, and to provide customer support. By providing your email address, you consent to our using that email address to send you service-related notices and receipts.
Analysis. Our Service may use certain information about you and/or your data internally for analytical purposes such as analyzing how our Services are used, diagnosing service or technical problems, and maintaining security.
We use analytics software to better understand the functionality of our software on your device. This software may record information such as how often you use the application, aggregated usage data, performance data, and where the application was downloaded from.
App Usage & Website Visitor Information. We use automatically collected information for a variety of purposes, including to:
remember information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your use of our Services;
provide custom content, and information;
determine the effectiveness of our Services;
fix technology problems reported by our users or engineers that are associated with certain IP addresses;
automatically update the application on your system and related devices.
Algorithm Training and Product Improvement. For users who opt into our data usage program, we use your cloud-stored receipt data to improve our scanning, categorization, and machine learning algorithms. We may use your data in anonymized and aggregated form for research, analytics, and developing new features. We do not use your receipt data for third-party advertising or sell it to third parties.
Local Storage (Default). By default, receipt data is stored locally on your device. We do not retain this data on our servers. Text sent for receipt processing is not retained by us or by our receipt processing provider.
Your Responsibility for Local Device Data. You are solely responsible for maintaining backup copies of receipt data stored locally on your device. QuickReceipts does not automatically backup local device data, and we cannot recover data that is lost due to device damage, loss, theft, reset, or replacement without a prior backup. To protect your receipts, we recommend either (a) subscribing to QuickReceipts Pro for automatic cloud backup and multi-device access, or (b) regularly exporting your receipt data for backup purposes.
Pro Subscription Cloud Storage. For Pro subscribers, we retain your cloud-stored receipt data while your account exists. If you cancel your Pro subscription, real-time sync and multi-device access are disabled and your cloud-stored data is retained with your account. It is deleted when you delete your account. If you resubscribe to Pro, your cloud-stored data and custom tags are restored. We may retain anonymized and aggregated data derived from your receipts for algorithm training and product improvement; you can request full deletion of all data, including anonymized data, by contacting support@quickreceipts.co.
Data Usage Program. For users who opt into our data usage program:
We retain your receipt data while you remain opted in
If you opt out, your identifiable receipt data will be deleted within 30 days
We may retain anonymized and aggregated data for algorithm training and product improvement
You can request full deletion of all data, including anonymized data, by contacting support@quickreceipts.co
Anonymized Data. We retain anonymized and aggregated data indefinitely unless you request its deletion. See "Data Anonymization" below.
Account Deletion. If you delete your QuickReceipts account entirely, we will delete all identifiable data associated with your account within 30 days. We may retain anonymized and aggregated data as described above, or you can request full deletion of all data by contacting support@quickreceipts.co. Because receipt data on your device is associated with your account, deleting your account also permanently ends your access to those receipts. We cannot restore them, and creating a new account with the same email address will not recover them. Generate and save a report of any receipt data you want to keep before deleting your account.
Account Inactivity. We may remove free tier accounts that have not been used in eighteen (18) months, following email notice as described in our Terms of Service. Accounts with an active Pro subscription are not subject to removal for inactivity. Removal deletes your account and any cloud-stored data associated with it, and permanently ends your access to the receipt data stored on your device.
Anonymized Data. When we anonymize your receipt data, we remove all information that could be used to identify you personally, including:
Your name, email address, and account identifiers
Device identifiers and IP addresses
Timestamps that could identify specific transactions
Any other personally identifiable information
Anonymized data may include:
Receipt categories, merchant types, and spending patterns (without identifying you)
Aggregated statistics across many users
Transaction amounts and dates (without linking them to you)
Use of Anonymized Data. We use anonymized data to:
Train and improve our machine learning algorithms
Develop spending benchmarks and insights
Create new features and analytics
Conduct research and product development
Anonymized data cannot be used to identify you and is not considered "personal data" under most privacy laws (including GDPR and CCPA). However, you can request deletion of anonymized data by contacting support@quickreceipts.co if you have concerns.
We will always request your consent before sharing any of your information in a way not discussed in this Policy. We take very seriously our responsibility to maintain the privacy of your personal information.
As permitted, we make certain information available to our service providers, partners, and other third parties. These third parties may include the following:
Service Providers & Vendors. We use service providers who assist us in meeting business operations needs, including hosting and delivering our Services. We also use service providers for specific services and functions, including email communication, customer support services, application development, data storage, and maintenance, and analytics. These service providers may only access, process, or store Personal Data pursuant to our instructions and to perform their duties to us.
Receipt Processing Provider. We use a third-party receipt processing service to identify line items, totals, taxes, and other details from text extracted on your device. Your device sends this text directly to the provider, along with standard technical information such as your IP address. Receipt images are never sent. The provider processes this information in real time only to return results to the app, acts solely on our behalf, does not store your data or use it to train models, and may not use it for any other purpose.
Cloud Infrastructure Providers. For Pro subscribers and free tier users enrolled in our optional data usage program, we use third-party cloud infrastructure providers (such as Google Firebase or similar services) to securely store your encrypted receipt data. These providers process data only as instructed by us and are contractually obligated to maintain security and confidentiality standards consistent with this Privacy Policy.

Analytics Partners. We partner with third party marketing and analytics services including but not limited to Mixpanel, Brevo, Apple App Store, and Google Analytics to help us market and understand use of the Services. These third-party partners may receive information about your use of our Services and information about your visits to other online services. These service providers are authorized to use your information only as necessary to provide their services to us.
Legal Compliance. In certain situations, QuickReceipts may be required to disclose personal information in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement. We may disclose to: (a) conform to the law, comply with legal process served on us or our affiliates, or investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected or actual illegal activities; (b) to enforce our Terms of Service, take precautions against liability, to investigate and defend ourselves against any third-party claims or allegations, to assist government enforcement agencies, or to protect the security or integrity of our site; and (c) to exercise or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of ourselves, our Services, customers, or others.

Data Retention. We may retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. For Pro subscribers using cloud storage, cancelling your Pro subscription disables real-time sync and multi-device access; your cloud-stored data is retained with your account and deleted when you delete your account. We may retain anonymized and aggregated data for algorithm training and product improvement. You can generate a report of your receipt data at any time from within the Application. For free tier users, receipt data is stored locally on your device and is not subject to our cloud retention policies.
Email Data Deletion. You can request deletion of any of your information collected and stored by QuickReceipts in the “Profile” section of the QuickReceipts app.
Subscription Management and Data Export. If you are a Pro subscriber, you can manage your subscription, including cancellation and upgrade/downgrade options, through your account settings in the QuickReceipts app or through your Apple App Store account settings.
